Father's Day 2011

For the third year in a row, I've hauled the kid(s) outside, given them a wooden letter, taken 23080343 pictures (no lie), picked out the best 3, and then matted them for a super sweet Father's Day gift! Corey has always loved them so now it's a tradition, I guess! I'm psyched about next year when each letter will have a different child holding it!

Let's start this by saying that I live in Texas. I am 7 months pregnant. It is already in the 100's... in June!. It's hard to get two kids to 1. hold a letter, 2. smile, 3. look at the camera. Trust me. All the while I'm flapping around like a bird in a bird bath with a clipped wing... making noises to get them to look at me, reminding the 3 year old to just keep looking at  me and not "help" her 1 year old brother (as sweet as that is!) because it just pisses him off, cursing in my head (most of the time), and sweating in unnatural places. But.... it is ALL worth it!

Since I'm pretty sure that my dear husband doesn't read my blog (pretty sure he doesn't even know the blog address), it is safe for me to post my final pics! I will get a 3-opening picture frame to put these in for Dad's day! Here are the winners- and by winners, I mean the best of what I had to work with! At some point I said ENOUGH- which is why the picture with both of them is pretty much a fail pic!

And... while I have your attention.. please enjoy some of the um... outtakes!

Smiles!

I needed some smiles and the easiest way to produce smiles is for me to look at pictures of my babies, since I can't see them in person right now. So.. I thought I'd share my smiles with you! Enjoy!

Brooke is sitting on the tree trunk seat I made for her by using a chainsaw. I love that she loves to sit on it and now I am compelled to make one just like it for her brother! She is stepping on the heads of the cement turtles on each side of her chair.... Which reminds me, we need to paint those tutrles.

Look at my sweet baby boy!! Gosh I miss those cheeks!

He was actually sick in this picture. He had a high fever, but needed some fresh air. Gosh he's handsome!

My little cheeser in the best store on earth: Costco. It's true and she knows this. Whenever I tell her we are going shopping she always asks if we can go to Costco! I have trained her well!

I was quite impressed with his natural model pose (not bad for an 8-month old!)
Following in the footsteps of his sister with his picture-taking skills, I'm SO proud!

He thought it was HI-larious when I was playing peek-a-boo around the tree trunk!

XOXO

Love her!

I miss you babies!!!!

Fun at the zoo, but no nappy poo!

This morning we went to the zoo with friends and even though we got home in time for our naps, this mama had NO nappy crafty time to speak of! Brooke went down easy as pie, as always and slept for almost 3 1/2 hours! Benjamin, however, was another story! I think he slept about 30 minutes, twice. The first 30 I was able to shower and finish up ironing the binding, but that's it. The second 30 minutes was right when Brooke woke up, so that was a no-go. I'll finish this quilt someday. Some. Day. Once both littles were up mommy had earned herself a trip to Joann's! So... off we went! I may or may not have gone overboard at the fabric store... we will never know! ;) Or maybe we will?..

So, no crafty post today, just zoo pictures!
